Like a good little lemming, I started a blog. Years ago. And promptly got sidetracked, and forgot all about it. Thus, a grand total of two posts.
Then I found Ravelry. Finally, a need for a blog, or at least a rationale. So, back to blogger, and the stunning embarrassment of two posts in two and a half years.
In the meantime, Maggie is bigger, and there's been a good bit of knitting, spinning, and even some crochet. Lots of UFOs, and even some finished objects. Lots more people I know blog, so I won't feel lonely.
My plan for resuming blogging? I'll start out project notes on some finished projects, and also add what's on the needles as I get it photgraphed.

Momentum
I want to get a few entries up here quickly, so that you know a little more about me and so that I can't pretend I was just fooling around with a blog. Once I've defined some real entries, it feels like I will have established a momentum with the blog. It will be rooted in reality, not just one of group of UFOs. (We'll wait a few days until we talk about UFOs, I think.)
Now, Finished objects are a different situation. What have I knitted successfully lately? well, a couple pairs of felted slippers so far, and one in progress, and a fourth pair sitting in stash, in skein. A felted bowl. More than Just a Sweatshirt (althought I have a tiny bit of crochet left to finish on that one). Socks, mostly for others. I can't find any I've knit for myself. Best pair of socks was fairisle and handspun, mostly angora blends. Two shawls, one for me, one for Anne. Lots of baby sweaters (and need to do two more). Three hour baby sweater and EZ surprise sweater are my favorites, so far. A mohair croptop. A circumnavigated cardigan. A fairisle tam, for an exchange.

I visit Lemmingville, or starting a blog because everyone else does it!
I keep thinking that I don't have time enough for spinning, knitting, and the other creative things that I love to do, so I am starting this weblog, to keep me on track with my projects. Make any sense to you? Didn't think so!
Seriously, though, I do feel more a part of the electronic fiber community in establishing a blog. Perhaps more to share with creative folk I admire?
To start, some personal info: I'm married, (almost 25 years now), no kids. Generally a dog person, and the current furkid is a Cardigan Welsh Corgi, by the name of Maggie May. Maggie is a brindle-pointed tricolor, and has the most AMAZING freckles. Previously owned by three mean little dogs, as David called them, or Lots of Lhasas.
I describe my job as working with computers, as each new position gets more and more esoteric and hard to explain. I'm North American Lead for Global Change Management at a multinational company. We're in the middle of rolling out a large SAP installation. I don't implement or design changes, I'd say that I track and approve them, but that isn't exactly right either. The people who design and implement changes also track and approve them, and I make it all happen, by monitoring, coaching, arm twisting, etc, etc. I do a lot of risk analysis before changes, and sometimes root cause analysis after some particularly unlucky team has earned the distinction of creating a severity 0 mess in one of the production systems. Before that, technical architecture, before that, information security, before that system support.... and I started out to manage programmers. Got sidetracked along the way. (You've probably figured out from this first entry that I'm good at getting sidetracked. Well, learn to enjoy the side tracks, and the whole railroad.)
